EMBODIED

Our perception of space is limited. Limited by walls, partitions, doorways and static entities that assembled into a space. That space houses our body and serves him. The project is a dynamic collaboration between body and the space surrounding it, exploring the changing perception of space through the our body's physical gestures.
Embodied is a series of dynamic entities that respond to human gestures and movement examining an alternative future, which replaces static material to a fluid space - responsive and conscious to the humans that inhabit it.
Space, now a complex system of dynamic and static relationship has immediate, intimate relationships with the person. The human is some way animates the space.
The project was created as a set of five white elastic fabric entities. A motion camera tracked body movements and translates them into movement of the five entities. Small engines stretching and shrinking the fabric using a plastic arms manufactured by laser, offered a new perspective on the perception of space, an imaginary future of collaborated movement, natural and artificial.
